Ingersoll’s Open Employer Training: Trans Cultural Competency

In an effort to create better work environments for transgender and gender nonconforming folks in Seattle, we are offering a free 2 hour training on Trans Cultural Competency for local employers. We hope to build relationships with employers through offering an opportunity to learn about what it means to be transgender, the systemic barriers that transgender folks face while navigating employment, and ways that employers can disrupt transphobia in their own companies and organizations.

You can RSVP via the link attached (https://ingersoll.typeform.com/to/AwNjgQ). If you're unable to attend this time around, please take a look at our training and technical assistance program online or reach out to us via email at info@ingersollgendercenter.org for more information on different opportunities.

Open Training for Legal Professionals: Intro to Legal Allyship

Title: Introduction to Legal Allyship for Transgender and Gender Diverse Communities
Date: Thursday, March 26th 11:30am - 1pm
Duration: 90 minutes
Location: Seattle, Washington
Cost: Free!
Credits: 1.5 Ethic CLE credits, pending approval by the Bar

Introduction to Legal Allyship for Transgender and Gender Diverse Communities

Even with progressive anti-discrimination policies in place, transgender people continue to encounter regular barriers when trying to amend their identity documents, accessing housing, and receiving adequate healthcare. In the constant changing climate of election season, protections and policies are continually being updated and challenged, making it even harder for the transgender community to get accurate representation and assistance. Please join Ingersoll staff as we provide an introduction to trans cultural humility concepts, an overview of common legal barriers encountered by our communities, and how attorneys can better represent and support gender diverse clients and co-workers. There will be a Q&A session to conclude the presentation.

This training is open to those in the legal profession who are interested in learning how they can better serve their trans and gender diverse clients.
